Doors

Ribbon doors and dividers can be made at different heights up to 98-1/2” tall with flexibility in toe clearance ranging from 2-9”.

Not all rooms are designed the same. With varying ceiling heights Ribbon doors can remain close to the ceiling, whilst the dividers can be 18” below the finished ceiling, to comply with the sprinkler code. The flexible toe clearance allows for a higher floor gap to accommodate accessibility requirements. All custom heights and toe clearances come at no extra cost.

Piveted Doors

Ribbon doors open by pivoting from the headrail to the bottom bracket meaning they are free of hinges, which are the weak point of any door. As our cubicles are stronger and tougher than a standard hinged system, we are able to offer a 10 year manufacturing guarantee.

With a standard hinge system, there is exposed hardware on outward opening doors and therefore on show on the front elevation of every layout with an ADA partition. With Ribbon, there are no visible hinges on inswinging or outswinging doors

Floorgap

Full aluminium frame. Standard height of 2100mm with 100mm floor gap. Available up to 2500mm high.

Integrated Latches

Unlike a normal latch and bolt system Ribbon latches are designed to integrate directly into the aluminium frame of our cubicles and are through fixed for added strength. The occupancy indicator also houses the emergency access feature.

The emergency access feature allows the doors to be opened from the outside of the compartment, with a standard allen wrench. This unique feature can also be used to lock the doors from the outside during peak hours. By closing off alternate cubicles, this enables 6’ distancing to be maintained.

Hydraulic Closer

Our patented Hydraulic Closer ensures that all Ribbon doors will close or open beautifully, quietly and with a satisfying amount of resistance.

Acrylic

Multiple layers of resinimpregnated high quality kraft papers.

Specification:

Overall cubicle height up to 2100mm with 100mm floor clearance, supplied with a 10 year warranty.

Framework:

Full anodised aluminium frame using Aluminium Alloy 6063T6 having a 5 micron anodised finish and with 60% recycled content. Extruded headrail finished with matching 4mm unique formulation polymer acrylic to the front face. Precision engineered stainless steel lock, hand-turned in UK, locates directly into vertical closing post, with integral full length buffer.

Door:

37mm finished thickness consisting of a 29mm ultra lightweight MDF core sourced from sustainable forests, rebated first, hand-lipped and faced with 4mm acrylic sheet. Concealed fixings within the door allow attachment to stainless steel pivot blocks, suspended from a structural aluminium headrail and located onto a unique bottom pivot bracket. Door falls closed by means of a hydraulic door closer designed specifically for the purpose, concealed within the aluminium headrail (alternatively, the closer can be factory set to fall open).

Fascia:

70mm finished thickness consisting of a 15mm moisture resistant MDF core sourced from sustainable forests, edged first and faced with high pressure laminate, bonded to an aluminium extrusion. Panel face finished with 4mm unique formulation polymer acrylic sheet.

Divider:

25mm finished thickness consisting of a 15mm moisture resistant chipboard core sourced from sustainable forests, faced in high pressure laminate and finished to top and bottom edges. 4mm unique formulation polymer acrylic sheet bonded to each face (butt joint required as maximum width of acrylic sheet is 1200mm wide). Supported 100mm from the floor using a precision engineered 304 grade stainless steel foot, hand-turned in UK, with height adjustment.

Fittings:

Precision engineered 303 grade brushed stainless steel lock, hand-turned in UK, and able to be opened using a closed fist, is fixed through the door to the face plate for added strength. Sacrificial hard nylon shear tip to the lock finger, which locates into the vertical closing post. Complete with emergency release facility. Divider fixed to back wall using unique concealed steel brackets, fastened by through-fixings. Stainless steel coat hook supplied as standard. Components tested over a cycle of 200,000 operations, equating to a 10 year period in a medium use washroom.

Wood Veneer

Real wood veneer backed with composite material to enable fabrication.

Options:

Matt, Silk, Relief, Grained, Unfinished, Optional cross grain.

62mm finished thickness consisting of a 12mm moisture resistant MDF core, edged first and faced with wood veneer, bonded to an aluminium extrusion.
