Baby Changing Station Laws FAQ in Florida
Does the ADA require baby changing stations in Florida?
No, the ADA doesn’t require baby changing stations in any buildings in Florida. The ADA does, however, have a diaper changing station law that states requirements for baby changing stations. This ensures that baby changing stations meet a required code. Another piece of legislation called the Bathroom Accessible In Every Situation Act (BABIES Act) requires that baby changing stations be available in both men’s and women’s rooms in all federal government buildings in Florida.
Are baby changing stations required in Florida restaurants?
No, baby changing stations aren’t required by federal law in restaurants. The exception to this rule is Miami-Dade County, who’s 2018 ordinance stipulates that diaper changing stations be provided in both women’s and men’s rooms in every restaurant that received its occupancy permit after February 1999, or is newly renovated.
Are baby changing stations required in Florida men's rooms?
